The 1/6 plate tintype was one of the most popular images made during the Civil War. It fits perfectly into an envelope and could easily be mailed home to loved ones.

I have been also searching for good reproduction 1/6 plate book style Union cases. I think I may have finally found a case I am happy with, and if supply allows will be offering this case for the 2007 season.
